Quarterly gathering in PDX
Dear friends,
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, March 10th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at our PDX gathering. We are gathering at the St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church (1704 NE 43rd Ave, Portland, OR). Remember that we will have IMIrJ t-shirts and a community member selling reusable bags so you may want to bring cash with you.
We are monitoring official recommendations about gatherings in light of COVID-19 and will let you know if anything changes regarding our gathering. We are mindful that some of you may not join us as a precautionary measure. We will be sure to send good notes and follow-ups! We invite you to discern what is best for you and your health. If anything changes regarding our gathering, we will be updating our Facebook event and calendar with the most recent information and sending an email.
Come prepared tomorrow to:
- Build cross-congregational and cross-organizational relationships that matter and move us to advance immigrant justice beyond the election cycle.
- Defend and seek to expand the Chief Justice of Oregon's ruling that prohibits ICE activity at our courthouses through a public comment party.
- Learn about ONE Oregon communications research and practice messaging our values in an election year when we anticipate a rise in anti-immigrant messages, policies, and actions.
- Brainstorm actions people of faith can take between now and November that can be turned into a statewide resource
We are looking forward to seeing you and please invite other folks from your congregation who you think might be good thinking partners as we discuss together.
Thank you for your work and commitment!
