Southshore Bay Community Update
View this email in your browser

Hello Southshore Bay Residents,

We hope everyone is staying safe and doing well during this unprecedented time of Safer-At-Home while waiting-out the COVID-19 situation. At Metro this means our entire team is still working, although most of us are working remotely in accordance with social distancing. In our communities this means the Lagoon is closed at Epperson and all clubhouses and pools elsewhere are also closed as instructed by the CDC and local law enforcement. Aside from our staff and our amenities, another key part of our operations is construction and we wanted to reach out and give you an update on how construction is currently being addressed and a forecast of construction timelines for the Southshore Bay Lagoon as we look ahead.

As you know, we do not have any real idea of when the outbreak will subside or when restrictions we will be lifted. We depend on our contractors to let us know what they can and cannot do on a job site. Ahead of that, we are dependent on city governance for permits and site management/approvals. All of this has been sidelined because of CV-19. With that said, our hope is to continue work in the next 4-8 weeks and forge ahead to an opening date in the first half of 2021 sometime before summer break.

The good news is, the delay that we experienced prior to the outbreak was because we stopped work to adjust and improve plans. These new plans provide vast upgrades that we know everyone will appreciate and enjoy.

More Good News to Share. We are happy to report that a site has been selected for the new Shaded Tot Lot and you can find the location on this site plan. As for your furry friends, they will soon be able to play safely in their current Dog Park with added fencing to separate the small and large dog sections with obstacle courses and seating to be featured inside each area. We will allow for the retention pond to remain to aid with rain-flow but this area will not be in either the large or small dog park areas.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Hello@MetroPlaces.com

Stay safe and stay well – we are in this together!

Warmest Regards,
Metro Places
