LCC church family,

Hi! I’m reaching out with information regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). As you may be aware, it has recently moved into northern Ohio. We want to be as prepared as possible for:

  • the opportunity to serve our community
  • the health/well-being of our body as we meet and gather

In this phase of planning, we’re asking (as the CDC recommends) to:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick or have been sick up to 3 days prior (If you are sick and scheduled to serve, please communicate with your team leader directly or via PCO services ASAP).
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Please wash hands before coming to church and when you arrive.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Please stay home for 14 days if you have traveled out of the country to:
-China (Level 3 Travel Health Notice)
-Iran (Level 3 Travel Health Notice)
-Italy (Level 3 Travel Health Notice)
-South Korea (Level 3 Travel Health Notice)

As a church, we are also taking extra measures to:

  • Have prevention supplies (hand sanitizer, etc) on hand (as they are available).
  • Limit physical contact as we meet/gather (Sorry all of you who love the church greeting time in the service - we’ll be taking a break from physical contact such as this).
  • Change how we take communion together to limit contact
  • Continue to sanitize and clean spaces each week
  • Plan for future gatherings (small and large group) and communicate should we need to move beyond the planning phase
  • Plan for how we can use our building should we move into “an outbreak” phase here.

We’ll continue to monitor the plan to respond to this and we’ll keep communicating. Please be praying and communicating with us too. If you are interested in more information, you can find it at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

God is in control of all of this. Let’s be praying for our nation’s health and for how we can help and love this community.

In Christ,

Dan Burmeister
