Current CSLA School Plan

We will follow the statewide mandate on school closures.  With the exception of the previously scheduled Spring Break week, we will treat other days away from campus as teacher led at-home learning.  Teachers will prepare at-home/online instruction and learning materials for students.  For those families that either do not have a computer or Internet access at home, we will make paper copies of handouts available for pick up at school between 10am - 2pm.  In addition, teachers will be available via email to help students if they have questions about any of the work assigned.  Teachers will monitor their C.S. Lewis email account between the hours of 9am - 3pm Monday through Friday.

We will continue to update you as we navigate this event together.

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight"

Around the World Auction Goes Virtual

Our annual auction, scheduled for April 4, will be delayed until the weekend of April 23-24 and will become a Virtual Event!  While we will miss the interaction and festive nature of our live event, we are excited that we will be able to create this new, interactive online experience!  More information is in the letter attached and will continue to be released!

TEACHER FEATURE

Kathy Brown – Third Grade Teacher
For the past eight years I have had the privilege of teaching second or third grade at C.S. Lewis Academy. Before coming to CSLA I taught first, second, and third grade at Open Bible Christian School for about twenty years.
I received my BA from Linfield College and attended Western Oregon University.

My husband, Ken and I have been married for thirty years. We live in Dayton with my big orange cat, Rhubarb. Ken was raised in Dayton, and most of his family lives here, too. I married into a close knit family that gathers together often for birthdays and holidays. Many of the Brown’s also attend Dayton First Baptist Church. Throughout the years Ken and I have assisted with AWANA. Sunday School and other ministries. Ken also enjoys playing his guitar on the worship team.

Both my parents were in the Army during and after World War ll. After my father retired we lived on Kodiak Island for three years. It was a great place for my siblings and I to play and roam. However, it was a bit too isolated for my mother. We eventually moved to McMinnville to be near my mother’s family.
Ken and I enjoy traveling and seeing historical sights. We have had the opportunity to travel through England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and the east coast in the United States.

One of my favorite memories is seeing Queen Elizabeth in a parade on her birthday. The Trooping of the Colors, as it is known.
