Good morning Library friends,

I wanted to send a quick email to thank everyone who took the time to cast their vote yesterday- whether it was in person or through an absentee ballot! Some fast facts: 2,328 residents went to the polls yesterday and there was a 31.3% voter turnout for this year's Town meeting. Thank you for supporting the Town's operating budget and the Library's technology capital reserve. I look forward to bringing new programs, events, and materials to all of Barrington's residents. Also, of those 2,328 votes, 1,144 were in support of article #3 for a new library building and community center- thank you!

Although the new library project did not pass, myself, Library staff  and Trustees greatly appreciate your support and encouragement. It was amazing to see all of the "I Voted" stickers come through our doors, the posts on social media and the phone calls and visits so far today hoping for good news. I would also like to thank the Friends of the Barrington Library and the Barrington Library Foundation for their hard work and dedication with this project over the years! It's truly amazing to see our community come together and reinforce the Library's motto "where community connects".

For official results for the Town and School District please click here to review the ballots. Congratulations to Lindsey Maziarz and Karolina Bodner for a successful re-election to the Library Trustees and welcome Karen Towne as our newest Trustee alternate! I look forward to working with you all!

Many thanks,
Melissa Huette
Director
