PWC Response During COVID-19

1st of the Month Reminders

If you pay your bill in person, please be aware our Customer Service Payment Center is temporarily closed for walk-in service. Our drive-thru remains open during normal hours – 8:30 am thru 5:30 pm. All other customer service transactions can be conducted by phone, Monday through Friday from 8 am – 8 pm, by calling 910-483-1382.

Please expect delays in the drive-thru since we have much higher customer volumes around the first of the month. We offer many payment options that do not require face-to-face contact, including our new 24/7 self-service payment station located in the drive-thru lane. It accepts cash, checks, cards and money orders, applies your payment immediately and provides you a receipt.

Android phones. Look for the PWC logo in your app store.

United Way COVID-19 Relief Fund

United Way of Cumberland County (UWCC) has set up a COVID-19 Relief Fund. This fund will provide assistance and resources to those affected by the current public health emergency. Funds collected will help local families and individuals impacted by this virus to help meet their basic needs.

To donate to the relief fund, visit www.unitedway-cc.org, text UNITED to 855-735-2437 or mail a check to the United Way office at 222 Maiden Lane, Fayetteville, NC 28301 with COVID-19 written on the memo line. 100% of these funds will stay in Cumberland County to help your friends and neighbors. We encourage all residents to give what they can. Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference.

Remaining Understanding & Flexible

We understand that the COVID-19 situation is creating hardship or financial difficulty for many customers, we encourage customers to contact us if you need assistance with payment extensions or arrangements.  We have suspended disconnections for non-payment and late fees effective March 16. Bills are not being waived but we are allowing customers additional time to pay. We do encourage you to call and arrange payment plans if needed because the longer payments are delayed and services continue, the more the amount owed becomes and it can become more difficult to pay the larger amount.

DSS offices are currently closed to the public, energy-assistance applications can be downloaded at http://www.ccdssnc.com/energy-assistance-programs/

Conserve While Staying at Home

Spending more time at home will increase your energy and water use. When at home, you have more flexibility to shift energy use, such as laundry and running the dishwasher to off-peak hours. Beginning April 1, peak hours for electric customers change to afternoons, 3pm - 7pm weekdays. Energy used the other 20 hours of the weekday, weekends and PWC holidays are billed off-peak. Energy used in April will billed in May when off-peak rates will even less.  Beginning May 1, off-peak rates for residential and small power customers will be 35% less than on-peak.
