PTA UPDATES

Yesterday's PTA meeting was well attended, with terrific updates from Principal Wilson on COVID-19 facilities cleaning and health screening (check your email for details from the District), Youth Truth Survey themes, ALPS, new staff and more.

Board nominations were made and will be voted on at the April 14 PTA meeting.
Current nominees are: Gena Lilligren & Kate Lewis (Co-President), Ashley Ryan (Vice President), Tracey Eaton (Secretary), Minona Heaviland & Jacquie Smith (Co-Communications). Jon Marhenke will continue as Treasurer and is hoping for someone to join as his Co-Treasurer.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations to the cast of Shrek the Musical! 48 students put on 4 shows Friday and Saturday. Thank you to Ms. Hiatt and and Ms. Feige for giving these 3rd-6th graders an experience they will never forget and thank you to the parent volunteers who helped with sets, costumes and being an amazing audience

Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team! Winners of this year's Mike Foster Sportsmanship Award with the support of their coach, Manza Atkinson.

Both programs are funded by your PTA donations, so give yourself a pat on the back too...

In Case You Missed It last week...

TIGERFEST 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT

We are excited to have received a $5,000 grant from the City of Santa Rosa to help us coordinate this year's Tigerfest and increase it's impact on our community. This grant will allow us to have the annual friend-raiser and create a mural that will celebrate our unique prospective. We will be joined by city officials that will educate our stakeholders on emergency preparedness, bike safety and cohesiveness.

However, this does comes with a request to have this event on a different date than in October, due to the increase in fire danger and risk of cancellation.

So, we are planning Tiger-Fall-Fest for Saturday, August 29 2020. This is a one time move and we plan to continue to hold this event close to Halloween in future years. This year's event will be a great welcome back to school and celebration for the end of summer, start of fall.

We will need all of your help and support to make this a great event. Please contact Jacquie or Carmen with any questions or concerns or if you want to volunteer to be on this year's committee.

MURAL: CALL FOR ARTISTS!

Proctor Terrace PTA is the recipient of an exciting City of Santa Rosa Community Improvement Grant. Thank you to Carmen Works for writing the grant! The grant will support a new back-to-school event on August 29 (save the date!), and support the work of one or more artists to work with our community to create a mural on two or more school building walls.

Do you know an artist who is good in working with community that would like to partner with us on a mural project? Artists are invited to apply to work with us in creating the mural and building community at Proctor Terrace. Details are available here. Please forward this to any artists that you think might be interested. Deadline is March 31, 2020.

YEARBOOK: PHOTOS NEEDED

Please send in photos for the 2019/2020 Yearbook!

Katrin Taylor is working on the layout and we are in need of classroom activity pics (field trips, class parties, etc), after school sports, 6th grader baby pics and Spirit Days.
