2020 AGM
Thank you to all the members who attended the AGM and approved the motions from the committee including the increase in subscriptions - see the Draft Minutes.
We are actively seeking new members for the committee. Many of the committee members will have completed their maximum term in their roles at the end of 2020/21 and will be stepping down, this is an opportunity to join the committee and shadow them.
2020 Membership Renewals

Paul Haines,Treasurer, will be at the club session on Saturday 25 April for anyone for cannot pay through ClubSpark to pay by cheque.
Arrangements during court resurfacing
The major event of the year is that the courts will be resurfaced over the next few weeks. Work will start w/c 16 March and is expected to last five weeks. Please do not attempt to play during that time, even if they look playable, it is crucial that the surface has time to set. The committee has worked hard to make alternative arrangements for the period, helped by the generosity of local people and club members with private courts.
Club sessions will be
Tuesday pm: private court, contact George Deacon for details
Tuesday evening (men’s team practice): one outside floodlit court at Vale of White Horse Abingdon
Wed am cardio: will be at the Dicks South Lawn Appleton
Wednesday evening indoor courts at VoWH on Wed 1 April same as the first Wed in the month during the winter, outdoor Wednesday evening sessions to resume when courts playable, expected to be 22 April
Thursday pm: two outdoor courts at VoWH 1.30 to 3.30
Friday am Ladies session: see below
Saturday am: two outdoor courts at VoWH 10.00 to 12.00
The club will try and provide balls but you may like to bring your own in case arrangements don’t quite work.
Friday Morning Ladies' Sessions
Ladies Friday morning session will be at the Dicks, South Lawn Appleton. They have kindly let us have the court for two hours. Please enter on the Doodle poll Friday sessions alternative court (https://doodle.com/poll/nxfssym5zfucv4et0)
whether you are likely to come at 9.30 or 10.30. This does not commit you to anything, but should be a way to keep numbers spread so we all get maximum tennis time. Please bring own balls.
Tournament Entry and Wimbledon Draw
The forms for the Tournament entry and Wimbledon Draw are now available to download. Please send in your entries by email to Alison Jackson alisonhm.jackson@btinternet.com
It is not necessary to send the form to enter the tournament; an email to Alison with names of entrants, events they want to enter and age of any juniors will be sufficient INC an email address and phone number for each entrant. Entries must be sent by 15th April at latest. Entries received after the cut-off date may not be accepted.
Finals Day will be Sunday 13th September – but please try to get rounds up to the semi-finals played before the summer holiday season!
Reopening Event Sunday 3rd May 11.00 – 2.30
Make a note in your diaries for Sunday 3rd May and come down to the resurfaced courts for fun activities for all ages and a BBQ. Let's make this a great start to the new season!
Adult Coaching
Adult Coaching will restart in May on Monday nights at 19.00 and will be run on a pay and play basis. More details in a separate NetCall in April.
