Jacopo De Simoi, assistant professor, Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, has won the Coxeter-James Prize (2020) from The Canadian Mathematical Society for his work in the area of dynamical systems. The award recognizes young mathematicians who have made outstanding contributions to mathematical research.

A study co-authored by faculty with the Rotman School of Management, including UTM Assistant Professor Sonia Kang, placed third in the Financial Time’s list of top 100 studies with the greatest social impact. Whitened Résumés: Race and Self-Presentation in the Labor Market was co-authored by Kang, Katy DeCellesAndrás Tilcsik and Sora Jun, an assistant professor at University of Texas at Dallas.

Anita Srinivasan has been named UTM's new director of academic planning, policy, and research. Srinivasan was manager of executive education programs at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. She joined U of T’s School of Public Policy & Governance in 2007 and was part of the senior leadership team that launched the Master of Public Policy & Executive Education programs. 
Marisa Modeski has been appointed UTM's new associate registrar and director of student recruitment and admissions. Most recently she was director of international enrolment at Ryerson University where she developed a plan to expand international enrolment. Modeski holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson and a Master of Arts in Leadership from the Faculty of Economics and Management at Guelph.
