Launched! Clean Energy Advantage Program of the Montgomery County Green Bank

The Montgomery County Green Bank is thrilled to announce the launch our new Clean Energy Advantage (CEA) Residential Financing Program in partnership with NASA Federal Credit Union and Clean Energy Federal Credit Union – our Participating Lenders.

The CEA Program connects customers of Participating Contractors with preferred loan options for energy upgrades offered EXCLUSIVELY to Montgomery County homeowners through CEA’s lenders.

Homeowners can only access the lenders and their preferred rates for Montgomery County homeowners through Participating Contractors enrolled with the Montgomery County Green Bank. This is a unique opportunity for contractors working in the residential space to offer additional value to their customers. Loans can cover up to $35,000 in energy improvements with terms out to 12 years, allowing deeper and more comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades.

Meet the CEA Partner Lenders and initial Participating Contractors

The Clean Energy Advantage Program is a collaboration between community lenders and a network of Participating Contractors. We want to recognize and welcome our inaugural lending partners who provide preferred terms and participating contractors who have the expertise to get the job done right! Welcome!

Welcome Participating Lenders:

Note: CEA Program participants must access the preferred rates through a Participating Contractor.  The CEA Program will not be found on the lender’s websites.

Welcome Participating Contractors:

Become a CEA Program Participating Contractor

Homeowners can only access the CEA Program and the preferred rates of its lenders through a Participating Contractor. Here is why contractors are joining the CEA Program:
  • Enhance contractor's ability to sell more jobs.
  • Financing is being offered by two participating lenders with rates below conventional market terms.
  • NO lender fees. Lender fees can cost a contractor anywhere between 3% and 10%.
  • The only contractor cost is a $200 fee paid to the Green Bank for each funded loan. This covers Green Bank admin costs of handling the loan process.
  • Contractors who participate in Utility rebate programs in Montgomery County are eligible to join the Green Bank's contractor network.
  • Financing levels range from $3,000 to $35,000.
  • Technical and administrative support from the Green Bank Team.
  • Eligible work includes all utility-based Home Performance and HVAC measures as well as Solar, Geothermal, EV charging stations and energy storage.
  • Participating contractors will be promoted through the Green Bank website and marketing materials including printed brochures that will be available for contractors.
  • Referrals from the Green Bank's marketing campaigns will be distributed to participating contractors.
Enrolling as a Participating Contractor is easy! You will need:

  1. Be a participating contractor that serves Montgomery County residents and participates in the applicable utility HVAC or Home Performance with ENERGY STAR utility rebate program.
  2. Submit a Participating Contractor form to the Green Bank along with a copy of your business license and current insurance information.
