We're back!

With the current situation presented to us, the MFRC’s doors will continue to stay closed at this time. But that doesn't mean we are not still here for you! The MFRC staff are working hard & are committed to doing what we can to help you through these tough times! To do so, we will simply be changing our service delivery model for the time being.

Our programs & services will be going virtual! Below you find programs & services that have been modified to be delivered virtually. As well as some helpful links and resources that we've made ready for you! Visit our Facebook page often to check out some of the resources we are sharing! Also, please refer to our website and our Facebook page, for closures, updates and contact information for our staff!

Counselling Services
We know how resilient you are as a community and how well you support one another, but we all need a little extra help sometimes. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our counsellors for support and guidance. And we are thrilled to announce the counsellors are now available via virtual counselling, as well as email and phone contact! Virtual counselling is face-to-face contact over the computer and allows for set appointment times that are convenient for you.

One-on-One Self Care Workshops
Available to ALL community members - Available upon request 
If you are struggling to work self care into your new schedule, or would just like some tips and tricks, you can book an appointment for one-on-one support and planning with the VFPC. After reviewing some self care strategies and exploring what self care looks like for you, you will be able to complete your very own self care plan. Self care is so important for fostering resilience and managing stress.

Are you releasing or thinking about releasing from the Military? Book a virtual appointment with the VFPC to review the steps involved in the process, start planning, and obtain important information to support you in your transition. Get Ready to Grow Grass Heads
Decorate a jar, can or use a stocking if you have one! We will make crazy grass heads to watch grow. Best part? You can give them a haircut and their hair will grow back! Grass seed will be provided (pick up details to follow).

The Shilo MFRC Preschool Programs will be offered virtually this month! We will be offering some registered programs that will be available through a free app called ZOOM. You must have access to internet and a computer/tablet/phone that supports the app. Once you are registered, you will be sent a meeting code to access the program! We will also be emailing a list of items to have ready for our session! We hope to see you all there!
*If you have any questions about the programs being offered or any other preschool program related questions, please contact the Children Service Director at smfrc.daycare@outlook.com.

Storytimes
These will be pre-recorded so that parents can sit with their children and listen to a story being told, whenever they have time! Watch our Facebook page for these sessions! 

Arts & Crafts
These will be pre-recorded so that you can do this activity with your children at home, at your own pace! The first video will be PLAYDOUGH, watch Facebook for the art activity videos throughout the month of May!

Circle Times
Join us at Circle Time! During our time together, we will have a sing-a-long, movement activity,  science activity & end with a favorite story!
*these sessions will be offered virtually via ZOOM & are FREE but do require pre-registration in order for you to get the access code & supply list for each session. There will be a max of 8 families per session - multiple children in the same home can join together.
