Dear Atlanta Christian Church Family:

Our leadership team is monitoring information published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) concerning the Corona Virus (COVID-19).  According to the IDPH, the health risk to the general public from COVID-19 remains low at this time, both in the United States and in Illinois.

Regardless, this is a serious and developing situation and we need to shepherd our congregation well during this season. We are asking everyone to be informed with facts, not fear, and to monitor cdc.gov and dph.illinois.gov for the latest updates.

Please keep in mind that for most people the COVID-19 virus will not be distinguishable from the common cold. Some patients have also experienced gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and nausea prior to developing fever and lower respiratory tract signs and symptoms. Other symptoms may include fever, cough, fatigue, and a shortness of breath.

If you have recently traveled outside of the country or have potentially been exposed to COVID-19, the CDC and IDPH is asking that you carefully self-monitor for any symptoms and, if necessary, self-quarantine for the incubation period of 14 days for the protection of others.

ACC will take the following precautions:

1    We will alter our communion distribution, switching to individually packaged emblems.

2    The welcome team will avoid hand shaking.

3    We will make hand sanitizer and wipes available throughout the building.

4    As always, sermons are available online at atlantachristianfamily.org.

Blessings,

ACC Leadership Team
