With this in mind, the Well@Work newsletter content will now be part of this Safe@Work newsletters.
Subscribers from the Well@Work newsletter have been imported to receive this newsletter.

Safe@Work newsletters will continue to promote news, events and initiatives regarding all safety topics here at UOW.

Coronavirus COVID-19 response

On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organisation made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterised as a pandemic. Describing the situation as a pandemic does not change the threat posed by this virus, and it doesn't change what WHO, government departments and UOW are doing.

The University is continuing to closely monitor the situation and is committed to adapting operations to ensure the health, safety and well-being of students, staff and the communities in which we operate.

UOW will continue to follow the advice and directions set by the Australian Government and the NSW Health Department in our response.

Please follow the Coronavirus response webpage, Staff FAQ's  and Universe for regular updates.

Workplace safety inspections

Reminder for staff completing workplace safety inspections, that any hazards identified throughout the inspection require a risk control assigned to an appropriate person. This is required to be recorded through the online hazard reporting system SafetyNet.

For further guidance, please refer to the Workplace Inspection Guidelines.

Well@Work 2020 nutrition clinic

The Well@Work nutrition clinic is a collaboration between the discipline of nutrition and dietetics, School of Medicine and the UOW WHS unit.

It aims to provide dietetic  students with an opportunity to develop their skills in dietary counselling whilst enabling UOW staff to have their diet assessed for nutritional adequacy as a component of the Well@Work program.

There are a number of one hour consultations available from 6th May 2020.

Please visit the Well@Work events web page  to see dates and email whs-admin@uow.edu.au to express interest in an appointment
