The Needle is the OSU Extension electronic announcements to help keep you informed about local workshops, tours, and other happenings for woodland landowners/managers in Benton, Linn and Polk Counties. 
Note: At this time we anticipate that scheduled meetings and events posted below will go ahead as planned.  However, we are tracking the situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and will follow the recommendations of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and other institutions regarding public events. Should it become necessary to reschedule or cancel programming in the future, we will inform you of any changes that may occur.
Due to travel restrictions in place at the State University of New York in support of reducing the spread of COVID-19, the Starker Lecture Series event “Women as change agents in forestry,” presented by SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer, has been postponed from its scheduled date of March 16th. The lecture will be rescheduled at a later date.

Speaker: Robin Wall Kimmerer, Plant Ecology, Ethnobotany, Traditional Indigenous Knowledge
Wall Kimmerer will be speaking on her work in integrating indigenous and western knowledges in ecology/forestry/environment- as a scientist, educator and writer. See website for details.
