PNWJETAA March 2020 Newsletter


In the midst of the current virus crisis, we want to be sure all of our members, families, and communities are safe.  While we are scaling back some activities to be in accordance with local guidelines, we are also looking to the future with hope.  
Tentatively on, a decision will be made on
Saturday, March 14th to cancel or continue. 


Tasting Tea (and Other Stories)
March 21, 2020  |  1:00–3:00PM  |  JCCCW, Room 202
$10 per person including tasting
 
Steep yourself in tea history and culture with certified tea specialist and PNWJETAA Member Patrick Penny. Through this seminar you will learn what tea is, how it’s made, how to properly taste and evaluate a tea, and over 2000 years’ worth of tea history — all while drinking 3 high quality teas prepared in the “gong-fu” method.
 
Space is limited to the first 12 registrants. Payment will be collected at the event (cash or card accepted). Register by March 20th via Google Form.

Come and mingle with our friends at the Japan America Society!  We have the big party room at Rockbox but there's limited space (around 40 people). Drinks are separate but $5 is a good deal for a whole lot of karaoke!
Sakura-Con - Seattle's Japanese Culture and Anime Convention

At this time, Sakura-Con will be held as scheduled on April 10th-12th at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. Sakura-Con takes the health and safety of our members very seriously, and are working closely with the venue to follow all public health guidelines.

We look forward to seeing you all for 3 days of round the clock fun next month!

 Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association, Sakura-Con is the oldest and most well attended anime convention in the Pacific Northwest.

Please join us for Sakura-Con 2020 where all of the excellent programming you’ve come to expect will be back in abundance. Anime theaters, gaming, cosplay, cultural panels, dances, concerts, art contests, AMV’s, industry guests, over 100,000 square feet of exhibits hall, guests of honor, and more!
