The Coronavirus and Worship

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

Dear Friends,

Our church and school are paying close attention to the Coronavirus (COVID - 19) and the counsel the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is giving to both churches and schools. While there have been four active cases of the Coronavirus in Orange County all four are related to international travel and there has been no person-to-person transmission in Orange County as of this email.

Your health and well-being are important to us. To ensure the well-being of our Abiding Savior family on weekends  Wednesdays when we gather please observe the following practices.

1. If you are feeling unwell/under-the-weather or have any symptoms related to the virus or flu please stay home.
2. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when you are not able to wash your hands.
3. Avoid shaking hands. To this end during worship we will simply verbally greet those immediately around us at the time of the “Sharing of the Peace” during our worship services instead of shaking hands.
4. Also during worship we will encourage you to place your offering in a receptacle at the front of the church either at the time of the offering or at the time of Holy communion during rather than pass the offering plates around.
