March 2020

Hello, HOTV runner!

Did you know our local trails can't exist without the help of community volunteers? Every third Saturday, OSU Research Forests hosts a work party to work on a specific forest project.

We highly encourage you to join this Saturday's work party! Here are all of the details.

If you want to learn more about our forests, this site is full of resources

Quick ways you can care for our trails that REALLY help out:
  • If you're leaving tracks, turn back!
  • If there is a puddle in the middle of the path, run through it! (This preserves the growth around the trail)

Run to Get Lucky

Our friends from Best in the West are hosting their 9th annual Run to Get Lucky. HOTV board member and Best in the West owner Blair Bronson promises a great atmosphere for the run and post-run party!

You can choose from a 15k, 5k, 1mile or 1k. The race is still on, but some adjustments have been made to accommodate for COVID-19. Visit the race website for more details.

Run for the Hills

HOTV board member Marc Weber and HOTV member Drew Ibarra are already hard at work prepping for the 14th annual Run for the Hills on Sunday, June 7.

The scenic and challenging 30k and 8k at Bald Hill Park offer great views and fun courses. Or there is an easy 2-mile walk/run almost entirely on a smooth paved path (except for the last bit across the gravel parking lot to finish) and 1/4 mile kids run. The event benefits the Greenbelt Land Trust trail fund.
