Hi Bakashana Family,
In these complicated times, you're likely being inundated with daunting and fearsome media. So, I thought of dropping you a note to let you know that amidst the madness, your support is making a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of women here in Zambia. Though pandemic panics have not yet reached Zambia, we are challenged by a different problem: a local currency and economy which are crashing in the middle of the "hungry season" - before farm produce has been harvested. Through the tough times, we continue to stand as a beacon of hope for the Kasama community. We currently have  250 young ladies on scholarship at the high school level, and ten at the college and university level! Since our health facility opened in December, we have provided family planning and HIV/AIDS testing and services to more than 200 women. Know that through it all, you are an agent of hope, opportunity, and positive change.

Thankful for you,

As 'Women honoring the past, embracing the present, and leading the future', we value every day as International Women’s Day. Members of our free English & Literacy courses, offered with your help and support, marched on Monday, fighting for equality and celebrating our sisterhood.

These two single moms are our first tailoring graduates! After finishing a year of intensive course-work, we rewarded them with their own sewing machines. Your help has enabled them to tap into their inherent potential, start their own businesses and provide reliable income for their families.
Here's a quick and heartfelt "thank you" from the guardians (most of them Grandmas) of our newest group of grantees. You're making a difference in their lives!
