Dear Posnack Lower School Families,

In order to foster a healthy learning community, Posnack School has closed its buildings and moved to an online instruction format at this time. This difficult decision was reached out of an abundance of caution and in an attempt to do what we can to slow the spread of this serious virus and protect the members of our Posnack School family.

As a school, we recognize this is a difficult and extraordinary situation for all of us. Please be reassured that the lower school faculty has been preparing for this scenario. Teachers have planned assignments ready to distribute via online technology during our campus closure.

As a lower school community, we are committed to your child(ren)'s education. Teachers have been instructed to contact their homeroom families and students via email with details pertaining to assignments, expectations, dates of completion, and how assignments are to be submitted for credit/completion during this closure period. Therefore, school will continue whether students are in or out of the classroom. We are asking all parents to check emails daily from all their child(ren)'s teachers. Please communicate via email with teachers with any questions about assignments if clarification is needed.

In addition, it is important that your child(ren) have access to a computer, internet, printer, paper, pencils, and other regular school supplies to use during this time.

Please know that you can contact Nurse Marjorie at mmoreau@posnackschool.org or our K-8 counselor Elisabeth Trofimtchouk at etrofimtchouk@posnackschool.org with any questions.

Please be aware that Posnack School Campus will be closed immediately after dismissal at 2:55 pm TODAY and will not be open starting Monday, March 16th. Online instruction begins Tuesday, March 17. Therefore, ANY student materials needed for the upcoming weeks must be picked up prior to this time from the Lower School Office.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this challenging situation. I urge everyone in our community to take all the steps necessary for self-care during this unprecedented time.

Shabbat Shalom,

Brenda Stein, M.Ed.
Posnack Lower School Principal
