COVID-19

Response by Conservation Works to protect Employees, Volunteers, and YOU

The Covid-19 virus needs all of us to be pro-active in helping curb its spread.  We want you to know that Conservation Works is doing our part in protecting our employees, volunteers, and the public.   We have postponed gatherings--large and small--that are not mission-critical, and are encouraging employees to work from home if they can, and to follow the guidance of our state and local health advisors.  Teleconferencing is recommended in lieu of face-to-face meetings.

We all need to wash our hands frequently (soap and water is best, but hand sanitizer solution can be used if soap and water is not available), avoid touching our face, avoid large groups, and widen personal space boundaries.  If you feel ill, please stay at home unless medical attention is required, then follow your doctor's advice.

PROJECT-SPECIFIC RESPONSE UPDATES

Some program work will continue including outreach and program deployment work in schools; however, we will follow all school requirements and advisories.

If schools close in the Sonoma Valley where we are actively deploying composting/recycling educational outreach at this time, then that element of our program deployment will be deferred until later.

Our outdoors project at The Living Room in Santa Rosa is currently going forward but we are monitoring the advisories carefully and will react as needed if new information/advisories emerge.  Hand sanitizers are available at the project site.

Our outdoors Turkey Tail Mushroom Project activities in Mendocino County continue, but the public workshop has been deferred until the Fall.

Our outdoors Mendocino County Bee Patches planning effort for 2020 work continues, as does the planning for spring and summer work in the Davis Creek watershed by Willits.  The spaghetti feed fundraiser for this project has been indefinitely postponed, but will be re-scheduled.

Our Hike for Habitat to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, currently scheduled for April 25, 2020 at Lake Sonoma currently remains as planned, so please SAVE THE DATE.  If circumstances warrant a change, we will advise you at that time.
