Resources and Guidance on COVID-19
As we all monitor and adjust to the new circumstances of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to share resources and guidance to help you, your staff and the New Yorkers that you serve.

Letters to the Administration

Over the past week, we have worked with various partners in the field to develop and sign on to several letters to the de Blasio administration highlighting the most pressing issues facing the human services sector during the COVID-19 outbreak. We are grateful to be part of the C-19 HHS Nonprofit Membership Organization Workgroup, spearheaded by the Human Services Council. Most recently, on March 16, the group shared a letter (read full letter here) with a number recommendations and feedback to the City on how to best ensure that the sector to have continuity of operations and best serve staff and clients.

We will provide updates related to the workforce sector over the coming days.

Census 2020: Resources and Guidance

The 2020 Census launched last week - and our partners at ABNY have created useful materials for organizations supporting the Census outreach process. The Census will determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding will affect our communities for years to come.

Below are some key messages and information to know when supporting your community members:
  • Starting last week, every household in America will receive an invitation in the mail to complete the 2020 Census form online at my2020census.gov, by phone at 1-844-330-2020 or by mail.
  • You don’t have to wait to receive your form in the mail, on and after March 12 you can complete your Census by phone at 1-844-330-2020 or online using a computer or your smartphone at my2020census.gov
  • Each mailed invitation will include a unique Census ID, but you can also complete your Census form online or by phone without a Census ID. You do not need the ID number to complete the Census.
  • There is NO citizenship question on the US Census and your information is private and legally protected. The U.S. Census is bound by law to protect your answers and keep them strictly confidential.
If you or a client need assistance completing the Census form, call the Census Bureau Customer Service Center at 1-800-923-8282.
