Dear Engaged Scholar, 


Congratulations! You have been nominated and selected to present your Community-Based Learning project at the Annual Community-Based Research and Service Learning Symposium. We are excited to learn more about the work you have done for your course and your reflections on your community experience.

We ask that you RSVP for this event here.

Please submit your Final PowerPoint presentation including a tittle and a short 150 word abstract describing your project by April 15th.

*If you are part of a group, please coordinate amongst your group members to decide who will submit the requested information. 
 
Submit Project Title and Description

What: Annual Community-Based Research and Service Learning Symposium
When: April 24th, 10:00am - 2:00pm
Where: The Grand Salon
           

Format:

In keeping with our eco-friendly Symposium, the format of the symposium will be a PowerPoint or Prezi Presentation Session where each student or student group will showcase their service learning projects from a designated tabling area and present their work on a laptop. The judges and all attendees will be able to view your presentations throughout the event.  

Judging:
Your 4-5 minute PowerPoint or Prezi Presentation will be judged based on the clarity of the following criteria:

  • Community Partner/Community Organization
  • Community need or issue your service addressed
  • Project or program mission or goals
  • Methods of achieving these goals and services provided
  • Impact of your project – how the community and/or community organization benefited from your project and what you learned/ experiences gained in the process PowerPoint or Prezi creativity and design
Prizes:
Undergraduate

First place: $500
Second place - $250
Third place - $100

Graduate
Graduate Student award: $500

Video
First place: $200
Second place: $100
