Annual Miracle Mile Community Meeting Cancelled
The annual Miracle Mile community meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020 has been postponed as a result of concerns about the possible spread of the Coronavirus.
COVID-19 cases in California have spurred emergency declarations from the state and Los Angeles County to help raise public awareness.
For the past 37 years the MMRA has hosted an annual meeting open to all residents of the Miracle Mile. The meetings attract standing-room-only size crowds. “We thought it was best to exercise common sense and hold off on hosting large public meetings until we all have a better understanding of how this virus is going to impact our community,” said Ken Hixon, MMRA Senior Vice President.
Also, the closing of Wilshire Boulevard to vehicular traffic on March 14 and 15 for the filming of a TV episode at the La Brea Tar Pits would have created some confusion and inconvenience to those attending the annual meeting. You can read more about the closure here.
The MMRA will reschedule the annual meeting once this health related state of emergency is resolved.
(Lawn signs promoting the meeting were recently posted throughout the neighborhood. We are attempting to remove them. The vinyl signs and the wire stands are recyclable. If you see a sign that we missed please toss it into a recycling bin.)
