Prayer Partner,
Thank you for praying for last Sunday's worship service which included baptism. Oftentimes I request prayer without sharing the praises that follow. (If you follow DeepWater on Facebook we share praises on there sometimes.) Anyways, there were 3 prepared to be baptized and it was wonderful, there was a lot of celebration in the room. Praise God!
Interestingly, during the week Jess & I sensed that the Holy Spirit may move some to be baptized after the sermon and so we prepared some extra clothes and towels to have on hand in the case that anyone may come forward.
The message Sunday was about obedience to Christ and a challenge was given to those being moved by the Holy Spirit to walk in obedience and come forward to receive Jesus, be baptized or both. Donette came first and she shared about being a follower of Jesus for 20 years but that she had not taken the step of obedience. Donette's daughter Stevie and granddaughter Raina were also baptized on Sunday - 3 generations professing Jesus Christ on the same night! Praise God! Then two other young people came forward, Ava who is one of our students, and Jack an awesome young man. All of them had been saved but needed to take this very important step. I praise God that He led them to step out in boldness!
Please pray for them as they continue to pursue God and strengthen themselves as followers of Jesus. Pray also that the faith family at DeepWater will take an active role in their discipleship. Pray for those who are not believers but witnessed the baptisms, because they saw a beautiful picture of the the old self dying and the new person being raised to newness of life in Jesus Christ.
Again, thank you for your prayers - God is at work! We praise Him for his mighty acts!
