#NashvilleStrong

For those who aren't in Nashville and in Tennessee, we are still recovering from an EF-3/EF-4 tornado. If you are in Tennessee, I want to check-in. Are you okay? Feel free to reply to this email. If you send me resources or things you need, and I'll share them in the StartupNash Slack group. If you don't have access to the group, just reply to this email and I'll invite you. If that's too overwhelming, it's okay too.

It's also okay if you weren't at the scene at 3am in Five Points, or can't get off work to volunteer yet. It's okay to feel emotionally heavy and distracted, even if you weren't in the path of the storm. You're connected to these communities if you lived here and moved away, or visited once and loved it, or just have sad feelings when other people are in trouble.

For those who want to volunteer:
-Try to park on a street that's not affected so removal services can get through.
-Avoid driving down the street to take pictures.
-Be prepared with the right clothes and shoes, gloves and masks.
-Bring extra gloves, trash bags and masks with you for others.
-Having a printed out list of resources to share with neighbors is really helpful. Some people don't have power or internet, so they don't know who is trying to help them or where resources are located.
-When the newness of volunteering wears down, thousands of your neighbors will still need help. Pace yourself and help when you can.
-Cleanliness is a key: There are lots of dusk and bugs and debris all over the place. Wash your hands, shower, etc.
-Sometimes listening is the best thing you can do for your neighbors.

I hope you all are doing okay. Please let me know what I can do to help, and I'll get it done.
