Our campaign on combating Islamophobia will launch at the start of April. A fundraiser to tackle Islamophobia to enhance this campaign is now active. So far it has attracted more abuse than support.

Our CEO discussed the challenges and responsibilities of tackling racism against Indigenous Australians. There is a need for Australian knowledge which international platforms often lack.

OHPI Presents to Victorian Parliament
Four directors of OHPI presented to the Victoria Parliament's Inquiry into anti-vilification laws and outlined our work tackling online vilification, its nature, danger and harm. We shared a briefing on racism against Indigenous Australians, work tackling terrorism & on Mein Kampf.

Racism on Instagram
Instagram continues to host racist content, with entire accounts dedicated to racist memes. We shone a light on numerous Instagram examples of content targeting Indigenous Australians.

OHPI Stops Promotion of Terrorism
We found and took action on a page displaying a terrorist manifesto advocating the killing of Jews, Muslims and Christians. The page displayed advertising paid for by the NSW, Victorian and South Australian state governments. Our action led to rapid removal of the manifesto.

OHPI Warn About Sale of Mein Kampf
We calling on Dymocks Books to stop selling editions of Hitler's Mein Kampf which promote Nazi ideology and are fuelling extremism. Limiting sales to editions with added commentary and / or annotations would support study and help to reduce extremism.

Human Rights Commission
We've met a few times with Race Discrimination Commissioner Chin Tan from the Australian Human Rights Commission to discuss our work. A recent video conference meeting discussed the risk of increased online hate at this time as more people spend more time online.

Islamic Council of Victoria
On the Friday one year after the attack in Christchurch we met with the ICV to pass on our condolence and discuss work to tackle online Islamophobia. The impact of the attack continues to be felt by Muslim communities around the world.

Improving Online Engagement
Four new navigation buttons added to our website now make it easier to find our campaign schedule, the current campaign and fundraiser, and the services we offer to Government, Companies, NGOs, Universities, Media and community organisations.
