TREASURY TO BUSINESS:
ONE MONTH TO PREPARE FOR IR35

Last Thursday (Feb 27) , the UK Treasury confirmed that tax status changes would be introduced to the private sector in April.

The so-called IR35 rules will close a number of income tax blindspots that had emerged in the off-payroll employment practices of some organisations.
In this week's announcement, the government revealed a series of concessions to ease the transition into the new system: including an exemption for historical cases, and a relaxation of penalties for the first twelve months.
