In line with the BHA rules, all Masters games will be played in 4 x 15-minute quarters with 3 breaks of 2 minutes between each quarter.
Teams are not to leave the field for 1st and 3rd breaks.
Be ready to play on time, as one team can start on schedule without the other team being ready.
Umpires will be starting the game on time, regardless of whether teams are ready.
++++++++++
Brisbane Rep Team trials will be held on Tuesday 7th April at State Hockey Centre.
Both State and National Championships this year will be held on the Gold Coast for some age groups. If you have not played in either a Brisbane team or a Qld team this would be a great year to nominate.

Database player position choice changes
One of the changes to the database is the way you can nominate your preferred position/s on the field.
Below is a list of choices which appear when you update your profile.
This is to indicate to selectors what YOU consider to be your best position/s.
As a PLAYER you are asked to nominate your 1st 2nd Choice team position (your 2nd Choice can be the same as the first choice) using the following codes...
GK = Goalkeeper
FB = Fullback
WH = Wing Half. (Left & Right Halfback).
MF = Midfield. (Centre Half; Inside Left & Inside Right).
ST = Striker. (Left Wing; Centre Forward; Right Wing).

Masters' at 34? Yes, but with a catch!
At the Hockey Australia Masters Delegates’ meeting held in Melbourne on Saturday 7th Dec 2019, a change to the age eligibility for HA Women’s and Men’s Masters Championships was confirmed.
The Over 35 Championship at each HA Championship will now become the Over 34 Championship.
Players who will be 34 years of age by 31st December 2020 (i.e. Born 1986) are eligible to compete in the HA Over 34 years Championships for Women and Men.
As such, the Qld Masters will uphold the same ruling. (ie allow 34yo to play).
But the catch is ... the Brisbane Hockey Assn has decreed that 34 year olds will NOT be able to play in the Brisbane Masters competition. It will remain at minimum age of 35 years by 31/12/20.
For a 34-Y-O to nominate for selection into a Brisbane Rep Team to compete at the state championships, the player MUST REGISTER on the Brisbane Masters Database. (it's free!).
Here is the LINK!
In fact, every Brisbane Masters' player must be registered on the database. :-)

Date claimers for 2020

Special note re 2020 Australian Mens Championships Dates
A few of the States nomination forms are showing the wrong dates for this years' Championships being held on the Gold Coast.
Dates for the 45 to 75's are Saturday June 27th till Saturday July 11th, NOT Sunday the 12th.
Dates for the 35 to 40's are Saturday October 3rd to Sunday October 11th, NOT Thursday the 1st.

The Dates are: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 29th, 30th & 31st May 2020.
++++++++++++++++++++
Due to the Over 60s; O65s; O70s & O75s component of the World Cup being held in Tokyo in November 2020, the Australian Masters Championships will be split in 2020, with a date change.
Dates for the O45 to O75's are Saturday June 27th till Saturday July 11th.
Dates for the O35s & O40s are Saturday October 3rd to Sunday October 11th.

Thursday Arvo Social Hockey is on each Thursday from 3:00-4:30pm at Easts Carina Tiger Turf, Carina. Cost is $8. Please bring a plain white and a plain black or very dark shirt).
Many players socialise from 4:30pm upstairs in the bowls club where a good feed can be had (or taken away) from the fabulous Pancho's Pizza & Pasta, washed down with some cold ales.
