Happy St. Patrick's Day! Also, nice to have the sun out again but there is more rain in the forecast. Keep those boots or rainshoes ready for the next round of showers.
We had great RIF distributions at Cherished Children, Cherished Children Too, and Byron Elementary School. The children were excited to receive their books as well as their hand stamps. Many said thank you to us. Thanks to Jane, Carolyn, Marlene, and Margaret who gave out books with Carrie and Laurie. We will have one more distribution at both Cherished Children in May with our current books.
With the final vote at 14 to 5 to discontinue the Book Sale, we will begin brainstorming and exploring possible fundraising options. Since a number of members have pledged monies to purchase RIF books and fund the scholarship next fall, we will have time to consider a variety of options before making a decision.
The nominating committee will be reporting on candidates for office for the next two year cycle. Consider volunteering if you are contacted!
We will be discussing "The Atomic City Girls" by Janet Beard at the March 10 meeting. Hope to see you there!

Cherished Children Golf
Tournament March 13
Cherished Children Golf Tournament is early this year - March 13 - what we hope will be a "Lucky Friday the 13th" for Cherished Children. Mark you calendars and plan to help out that day - it is fun and a great help for this event. Also, help us spread the word to golfers and others who might be willing to be sponsors. Brochures will be available at the January and February meetings.

In lieu of a program, March is our month to discuss a book that we have all been reading. The book we will be discussing this year is Atomic City Girls by Janet Beard. Even if you haven't had a chance to read the book, the discussion should be interesting because of the interesting period in our country's history that is dealt with (Oakridge Tennessee during WWII).
