Updated guidance on reducing the risk of infection with the coronavirus (COVID-19)
In response to the changing situation relating to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Grand Secretary has reviewed the guidance given to all MMH Units in the joint statement issued with UGLE and the Ancient & Accepted Rite last week and updated it. Please read the briefing
on this link carefully and note the guidance to members in the higher risk categories; the option to postpone planned meetings or abandon them if there is an insufficient attendance; and the requirement from next Monday not to hold any meetings where more than 100 people may attend.
Dates for your diary - all are subject to cancellation/postponement.
Please check with event organisers before making plans to attend.

Enigmatic and colourful, and all yours for only £25

.... which
was the princely sum paid by the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons to Morton Edwards. Quite what right or authority, as 'Grand Commander', he believed he had to sell the Order, is dubious to say the least.
You can find out more about Morton Edwards, on
this link to the flyer about the sculptor and the Ancient & Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariner.
The following is

Pushing the boat out in the north-east corner

Pictured are R.Ill. Comp. John Harvey DGM Northumberland Royal and Select Masters, M.W. Bro. Thomas Firth Jackson Grand Master, Adrian Don RNLI and R.W.Bro. Danny Guy DGP Northumberland & Durham
At the AMD Northumberland & Durham District meeting on 7 March the Grand Master presented  a cheque for £1500 to Tynemouth RNLI on behalf of the Brethren of the District of Northumberland & Durham and the District Grand Council of Northumberland Royal and Select Masters. The funds were the proceeds of a bottle draw at the annual
Croft dinner at Tynemouth Golf Club.
Adrian Don, the Press Officer, accepted the cheque on behalf of the RNLI and expressed his appreciation of the brethren's generosity. The donation will help towards the target of £2.5 million pounds for a new lifeboat.
New Scarlet Cord Province - Hampshire & the Three Islands

The venue was the stunningly beautiful village of Botley (home of the famous journalist and radical politician William Cobbett, who described the village as the most delightful in the world). The occasion was the formation of the 'new' Province of Hampshire, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.
Presiding, as ever, was Grand Summus, M.Dist.Comp. Ian Currans with his trusty Tzaddikim (occupying the back row of the photo below).

Front row left to right: R.Dist.Comp. Ryan Williams (Grand Recorder), Dist.Comp. Ken Rondel,
R.Dist.Comp. Ian Campbell (Prov. Grand Summus), M.Dist.Comp. Ian Currans (Grand Summus),
V.Dist.Comp. Richard Batchelor (Deputy Prov. Grand Summus) and R.Dist.Comp. Trevor Currans (P.G.Vice Chan.)
Facebook Post of the Week
And a fitting tribute to a truly great man and Freemason.

The image below is a typical example of the deep affection with which
V.W. Bro. Walter Randall was held.
Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons Meeting and Charity Parade

There wasn't a power cut at Freemasons' Hall on Tuesday, rather representatives from Lifelites and several of the children's hospices supported by the MBF, lighting their way with symbolic lanterns.
Please click on this link for the special Charity Parade booklet.
Presiding at the meeting was Deputy Grand Master, R.W. Bro. John Prizeman, with Assistant Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Stephen Davison and
R.W. Bro. Gordon Craigs (Prov.G.M. Northumberland) alongside.

#Tweet of the Week

A very popular piece about a Grand Master installing a President, who appropriately happens to be the eponymous Lewis Clement.

#Friday Feeling
It's good to feel liked and followed - Mark Masons' Hall and our Grand Secretary are no exception. One of the very powerful ways of building awareness and consideration towards our ten Orders is to establish a presence on social media - Facebook and Twitter are a good start - and to have that conversation with your members and potential candidates.
We would also like to share our appreciation of the great work you are all doing - please email us on communications@mmh.org.uk with your Facebook and Twitter details. This will ensure that we like, share, follow and retweet in return - all emails will be acknowledged.
Thank you.
