Our mission is to create a place to encounter Jesus. Steeped in love and Catholic teachings, we provide strong academics to foster continual learning in mind and spirit.

Dear St. John's Families,

Last night's Cadillac Dinner was such a beautiful display of love for our school! Thank you to all who attended, sold tickets, volunteered, and especially to our Cadillac Dinner Committee!

It was a successful night to be sure, but we will keep you updated as final numbers are figured and will let you know the total raised for our school!

This Thursday Father Neil will lead us in praying the Stations of the Cross in the church. You are welcome to join us for this special time as we continue our Lenten journey. We will begin at 1 pm.

We also ask that you continue to give alms through our CRS Rice Bowl collection. Once your child's bowl is filled, they can bring it to the school office.

Have you signed up for a conference time with your child's teacher yet? Preschool through sixth-grade conferences will take place on March 16th and 17th. Please contact your child's teacher for more information.

Distinguished and Honorary Graduate Awards

We rely on our school family and the supportive efforts of our parish to create a place to encounter Jesus, and we want to honor two people who do this so selflessly.

Each year we recognize a distinguished graduate. The distinguished graduate award is given to honor those who continue to serve their alma mater far beyond graduation.

This year we would like to honor Frank KippFrank is a great treasure to this parish, but perhaps what you don’t know is that Frank has been leading a great group that is working to re-establish relationships with our alumni.

During the meeting that took place last summer regarding the needs of the school, Frank stepped forward that very first night to lead the new alumni committee. The work of this committee has been outstanding. They have updated thousands of records to be able to send a new alumni newsletter called "The Voice." Through the writing of this newsletter, former teachers and students have been interviewed and remembered. It’s been a way to say your St. John's family hasn’t forgotten you!

We thank Frank for his efforts, and I hope that you will stop and thank him when you see him next.

We also give an honorary graduate award that is given to someone who has worked so tirelessly you just assume they must have gone to school here!

This year we’d like to honor LaVerne Geis.

I remember the first time I met LaVerne, I assumed she must work here because she knew how things were to be done in the kitchen and proposed solutions to problems. But, I learned LaVerne volunteered her time serving in our school cafeteria, where she serves up a whole lot more than school lunch.

LaVerne looks out for our kids. It’s what she does best. From slicing the fruit so the kids will eat it, to serving as an adopted grandmother to kids who need another person to love them.

LaVerne looks out for us too. She expresses concern for her fellow volunteers and our St. John’s Staff. She goes out of her way to help.

Of these two great people, we can certainly say that they give of their love, not just their money. They are great examples of the many people who give their time, talent, and treasure to our beloved school.

T & T Lunch Option Back for Grades 3 - 6

We have been able to order the brand of pizza that the kids like! Therefore we will now open up the pizza lunch option for our older students on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Students will be given a ticket when they order to give to the staff in the lunchroom indicating they ordered the alternative for the day.
GHANA MISSION TRIP 2020

On Thursday, March 19th fifteen parishioners from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church will travel to Africa to begin establishing a Sister Parish relationship with a Catholic Church in Ghana. This wonderful opportunity has come to us through a relationship with Saint Joseph parish in Mamponteng Ghana Africa. Our missionaries will serve those most in need through hard work, relationship-building, and just being present to those we encounter. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is expensive, and our team of youth and adults have been working very hard to raise the money necessary to go. Your prayerful & generous support is requested to help our missionaries realize their goal of spreading the Love of the Gospel to those in Ghana.

Each missionary is responsible for raising roughly $2,500 each to cover the costs of airfare, lodging, and in-country transportation. To do this, they spend time bagging groceries at Cub Foods, serving pizzas at Pizza Ranch, helping out in the local community, and much more! They work hard to raise money, but that is for many that is a lot of money to raise! Your support is GREATLY needed to make our trip a reality.
