Scottish duo Charlie Grey and Joseph Peach presentAir Iomall, their album released last summer born from a journey to now uninhabited islands deep in the North Atlantic - some of Scotland’s most remote and remarkable places. Grey and Peach travelled aboard the Dutch tall ship Wylde Swan with filmmaker Hamish MacLeod, who documented the trip for the accompanying Air Iomall film, and wrote music inspired by the histories, people, and landscapes of these mysterious, wild locations.
The film follows the duo on this once in a lifetime experience, providing a visually stunning, sensitive insight into these under-documented and enigmatic landscapes. It culminates with a concert of their new music on St Kilda - the most remote part of the UK, on the 88th anniversary of the evacuation of its native population. That live performance is captured in its entirety on the album.  Not to be missed.

Unicorns are everywhere: but they were born in Scotland

An upcoming children’s book published by Floris Books, written by renowned Scottish children’s author Lari Don, will shed some light on the connection Scotland shares with its national animal - the unicorn. This mythical creature has become a modern emblem, associated with everything from cuddly toys to successful companies. However, humans have been fascinated with unicorns for centuries and this enchanting tale is based on the Scottish oral history about the origin of the unicorn.

And this lovely book, The Legend of the First Unicorn, alerts readers to our VERY OWN Cromarty unicorn - Urquhart - who stands proudly overlooking the Stables, a delight and attraction for locals and visitors alike.

Available for £7.99 in the usual book retailers, why not purchase a copy for the unicorn-lover in your family to coincide with National Unicorn Day (which, as we all know, is April 9th!).
