The Economics Club will be hosting a bus ride to and from the 2020 Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2020.  We leave about 5:20 AM and return around 10:30PM.  Transportation, lunch and dinner are provided.  We only require that you commit to providing a positive image of Iowa State and the Economics Department.  We typically can take up to 22 students but we may have some extra spaces.  Because of the limited space, we ask that you commit to going if you sign up so that you are not taking up a slot that will go unused.

The company is known for its control and leadership by Warren Buffett, who serves as chairman and chief executive, and Charlie Munger, the company's vice chairman.  The company wholly owns GEICO, Duracell, Dairy Queen, BNSF, Lubrizol, Fruit of the Loom, Helzberg Diamonds, Long & Foster, FlightSafety International, Pampered Chef, and NetJets, among many others.  Berkshire is currently the seventh largest company in the S&P 500 Index by market capitalization.
