Celebrating the Gifts of Women - 2nd Sunday in Lent

The image used for this week’s e-blast is of the packed up equipment from our polling place which will be leaving later this morning. To give you a better idea of the size, here are the dimensions: 11’ wide, 12’ long and 6.5 feet high. Many people are involved in our democracy this week. Please know that you helped people vote by the use of our fellowship hall, kitchen, parking lot and bathrooms. Thank you all!

Rhoda Knew!
Acts 12: 12 – 16;   Lamentations  3: 21 – 24;  2 Timothy 1:3- 10

If you would like to know more about this story in Acts, read chapter 12 top to bottom.

We will learn about Rhoda and her characteristics that helped the story move along in the early church.

There are many women in the Bible both named and unnamed that are unfamiliar. It is time to learn more about one of them, a marginalized woman in service. We are using hymns that have women as the lyricists or the composer or both. Look at the bottom of each hymn that we sing and see who created these works and when. There are also interesting notes that the Presbyterian Committee on Congregational Song wrote which heightens the meaning of each hymn for the understanding of our faith.

Communion will be served with individual pieces of bread and individual small cups. We are maneuvering in our world and changing our practices aiming towards continued health.
