Spring Greetings!

Quartos:

Above are several images of the Erie Currents Quartos that were in process for the exhibition this May 7th-18th at the
Güzel Santlar Fakültesi Sanat Galerisi, Anadulo University, Eskisehir, Turkey. I will be exhibiting 8-9 of these 4-piece works along with 40 of my 2018-2019 Navigation Pages: http://www.timothyfrerichs.com/works-with-paper.html works on paper. The Erie Currents Quartos are paper pulp paintings (recycled Linen fiber, pigment) on handmade local Milkweed/(Japanese) Mitzumata fiber paper. The collage materials are from the Lake Erie Shoreline - sewn Balloon ribbon (it is ubiquitous and tangled, wrapped around everything washed up on shore) along with found plastic, relief print (using flotsam wood) and ink. Included is a reference screen shot of the Lake Erie wind/water currents diagram that the imagery is based on. In these pieces, I've layered Lake Erie currents imagery taken from several days in November, December 2019 and January 2020.
These works will be exhibited along with my main installation at the Morgan Conservatory, Cleveland in February-March 2021.

Along with the exhibition this May, I will be conducting a non-toxic intaglio/etching workshop at the Anadulo University Printmaking department, May 4th-7th.

Finally an image from yesterday on the beach...

I wish you a safe and healthy March!
