Training Days

Unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak meant we had to cancel the first offering of our Identification of Marine Mammals and Seabirds: An Introduction to Surveying with MARINElife course. We are monitoring the NHS medical advice and the UK Government response to the outbreak of COVID-19 across the UK and it has been decided by the Board of Trustees to cancel all indoor events (both talks and training sessions) WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT UNTIL 30TH APRIL 2020. We have several courses scheduled after this date, but these too could be subject to cancellation depending on any changes to the country's response to the virus.

• 13th June with Dorset WLT
• 11th July with Oxford Museum
• 1st August with Cumbria WLT
• 13th September with Devon WLT
• 19th September with Northumberland WLT

Please keep an eye on our social media accounts and website for further updates.

MARINElife Education Gets A Boost

A big ‘thank you’ to MARINElife volunteer Kevin Waterfall.

Kevin successfully wrote and submitted a grant application raising £350 for our training and education programs. Well done Kevin!

Would you like to help raise funds for us like Kevin? If so, please email info@marine-life.org.uk with any ideas you have!

January Sightings

Storm Brendan caused some problems here and there, but thankfully a few of our volunteer surveyors managed to get out to sea to see some marine life.

The Liverpool-Belfast route provided good sightings of energetic foraging Bottlenose Dolphin, the researcher on the Heysham-Belfast trip saw several Harbour Porpoise, and a good number of Gannet were recorded during the Dover-Dunkirk survey, as well as plenty of other seabirds.

Find out what all our researchers have seen by heading over to our website.
