▾ ABOUT COVID-19 AND GRACE HILLS ▾
It's not often that I need to send a note like this, but because of the widespread concern about COVID-19 (coronavirus), I wanted to send you a note about how we're approaching it.

As of this moment, there have not been any documented cases of coronavirus in Northwest Arkansas, but we are also watching community spread occur in various places in the United States and, of course, around the world.

On the spiritual side of things, as Christians, we don't walk in fear but in faith. We don't have to worry. I preached on this very topic last weekend. If you missed it, you can catch the replay here

While we don't live under the tyranny of fear and worry, we DO care deeply about the welfare of people in our community, so we believe in listening to the experts when it comes to being prepared.

Yes, for the moment, we WILL be continuing our weekend worship services unless cancelation is warranted and recommended. But we do want to honor some best practices and ask for your help in the following ways:
  • Please practice hand washing regularly, with anti-bacterial soap and warm to hot water for at least 20 seconds.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with your inner elbow or forearm when sneezing or coughing.

  • If you have a fever or show symptoms of illness, respiratory or otherwise, please avoid attending public functions, including church services, and seek necessary medical attention.

  • If you are immune-compromised, it might be best to avoid public events and crowded spaces during this season.

  • Avoid physical contact with people, including hand shaking, if at all possible, just to be extra safe.
If you do need help in some way, please reach out and let us know how we can serve you! Send an email to joinus@gracehillschurch.com or talk to your small group host.

Throughout history, Christians have used moments like this to love and serve the world around them, to offer hope, love, and a helping hand to others.

Tomorrow, I'm preaching on a verse quite appropriate for the moment...

Matthew 5:13-16 NIV:
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

If you're well, I hope to see you Sunday. And if you need to stay home for any reason, we understand and let us know how we can pray for you or serve you!
