MP helps highlight work of home building industry
Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing helped highlight the work of home building industry when she attended a parliamentary drop-in session with the Home Builders Federation.
The event showcased the variety of roles available in the home building sector, and the industry's diverse and skilled workforce.
Dame Eleanor is pictured with Kieran Redfern, Maisie Webb, Oliver Eyres-Betts and Simon Hawkins from Waltham Abbey-based Hill Group.
Dame Eleanor said: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet Kieran, Maisie, Oliver and Simon at the launch of the Federation's ‘Building a Future: Opportunities in Home Building’ report which highlights the diversity of careers paths throughout the industry.
"There is a great demand for the building of new homes right across the country so we need to expand the skilled workforce necessary to meet the demand.
"It is great that the Federation and good firms like Hill are taking training seriously. This provides lots of diverse opportunities for many young people, as well as expanding this vital skilled workforce.”
