“Storm Adrenaline,” a new line of sneakers from Puma, met with initial ridicule in Russia over their resemblance to an unfortunately familiar face. But the perceived similarity of the shoe’s name to Sturmabteilung, the Storm Detachment paramilitary wing of the Nazis—combined with the fact that Puma co-founder Rudolf Dassler was a member of the party during the Second World War—led to theories that the appearance isn’t a coincidence.
