Less than 5 days before our Spring Conference kicks off with the incredible Mike Anderson bringing his energy and collision industry insights to our shop members and sponsors.

A huge bonus is having Frank Terlep from Auto Techcelerators speaking about Industry Disruption in his keynote presentation after supper on Friday evening.

Saturday Morning, we have SGI kicking things off with an update of the Safe & Quality Repair Program. Ciaran Downes and Ryan Smith will share things from their perspective as we count down the final 12 months for shops to qualify to meet the new accreditation standards.

Tom Julius from Car-Part.com will give an update on their recently rolled out Pro program and answer your questions. Mike Gilliland from AutoHouse Technologies will give you an update on the Benchmarking project that he is doing for the three western government insurance  provinces, Dave Flockhart from Betag Innovations will be doing a Q & A with the participants of the recent Advanced Metal Repair training at Sask Polytechnic, Sharon Ashley will be doing a presentation on the benefits of having a body shop management systems and Dan Bernier will shed some light on the Adhesive Templates program that SGI has recently rolled out. All this before noon!

After lunch we begin with some amazing presentations and news from Sask Apprenticeship’s Scott Nolin, followed by Paul Carter and his body shop team at Sask Polytechnic, my friend Bill Blok will be on hand to tell you about an amazing program to help rural body shops find entry level employees and Larry Wells from the Canada Saskatchewan Job Grant program will share some very exciting news for shops that are struggling to afford the training costs to meet SGI’s new accreditation.

My friend Frank Terlep is up next to his latest tech project called Test Drive CoPilot - an app that helps shops document vehicle test drives to cover your liability and - hopefully - provide clear documentation to insurance companies so that shops can get reimbursed for their time to perform this vital function.

We wind up the day with a general meeting for SAAR. I know everyone wants to get home so I promise we will have you out by 4 pm but please, stick around and give us some feedback on how we are doing and help us plan our future direction.
