This is a kindly reminder of our upcoming 8th SFN Symposium taking place in Liverpool between the 2nd and 3rd of April 2020 and being chaired by Dr. Alexander Cowan and the SFN team. As members of the advisory board, you are warmly invited to join this event without paying any registration fee. Therefore, to proceed with the registration please just email Dr. Alexander Cowan (A.J.Cowan@liverpool.ac.uk) to let him know about your attendance before the 23rd March and please submit your abstract to 2020SFNmeeting@gmail.com before the deadline (9th March for Oral communications and 23rd March for Posters). We will also appreciate if you could encourage your students to participate in this event.
In this regard, the Advisory Board meeting will take place after the poster session of the main day (2nd April) before the dinner at which you are kindly invited. Please could you check the points in the attached Agenda for the upcoming annual meeting and let us know if there is anything you would like to add?
If you have not responded already, please have your response by the 5th March for the following three items: 1) The next AB meeting is scheduled to take place in the early evening of Thursday, 2nd April, at the Central Teaching Hub, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Liverpool, to coincide with the main SFN Symposium. The agenda will be circulated early March. Please let Alexander Cowan (A.J.Cowan@liverpool.ac.uk) and Carla Casadevall (cc2036@cam.ac.uk) know if you are coming and if you have any issues you would like to be added to the agenda. Unfortunately, we cannot offer financial assistance for travels. 2) The SFN speakers’ dinner is scheduled for after the AB meeting on the 2nd April. The details about the dinner will be informed in March and it is to be paid for by fund-raising efforts by the SFN team for AB members wishing to attend. We require confirmed numbers by the 5th of March, so please let us know if you would like to come by then. 3) The next newsletter will come out in early March. If you have any news items, please send them to us as early as possible.
