Dear members of the Chicago Master Singers family,
            With the well-being of our patrons and musicians as our top priority, we have made the disappointing but necessary decision to postpone our April 24th and 26th Beethoven concerts and the May 2nd gala benefit. The good news is that we can look forward to enjoying these milestone events together later this year. Details of our exciting plans are in the messages below.
            Until then, I hope you will use this time of sheltering at home to spend quality time with your loved ones, rest, listen to great music and contemplate what is most important. At the same time, we hold in our hearts and prayers those who continue to work at essential jobs on the front lines of this health crisis and those who suffer illness or need. I am confident that we will emerge from this difficult time with renewed inner strength and joy.

Maestro Heatherington’s farewell concert has been rescheduled to Friday, September 11, at 7:30 pm at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie. This special all-Beethoven program, featuring the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra with a solo vocal quartet and pianist Lyudmila Lakisova, will be exactly as it was originally planned for April 24 and 26. There will be one performance only on September 11. This will be Alan Heatherington’s last CMS concert, and our chance to bid him a fond farewell as we celebrate his 31 years as our Music Director.
            Patrons who have already purchased tickets for the April 24 and 26 concerts will automatically receive complimentary tickets to the September 11 tribute concert. These new tickets will be held for you at the box office. If you cannot be with us on September 11, you have the option of donating your tickets back to CMS or requesting a full refund. 
            Chicago Master Singers’ 42nd season will open on October 30 with a special welcome to our new Music Director, Dr. John C. Hughes. The fall concerts, featuring the Mozart Requiem under the direction of Dr. Hughes with the Ars Viva Orchestra and soloists, will be at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 30, and 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 1. 
            Our traditional Christmas concert is planned for December 4 and 6, and the spring concerts will be on April 23 and 25. All CMS concerts next season will be performed at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie.
            The North Shore Center will be Chicago Master Singers’ new home. Techny management has informed us that it will no longer host concerts in its sanctuary, at least through next year while the sanctuary is being restored. While we will miss the Techny ambience, we can look forward to enjoying CMS concerts in a large, comfortable concert hall with wonderful acoustics, a great view from every seat and many other amenities including convenient free parking.

Chicago Master Singers' Gala Benefit, originally planned for May 2nd, is postponed by just two weeks to Saturday, May 16th. A whole new experience awaits friends of Chicago Master Singers at this virtual benefit. This online event will include entertainment, a silent auction and much more.
