A better Polk starts with you. Be counted!

Data collected in the census will inform the distribution of more than $675 billion in federal funds to states and communities each year for things like infrastructure, health care, and food assistance. It’s important that we all respond to shape the future of our communities.

Be sure to count everyone who lives in your home on your 2020 Census form, even if they aren’t related to you or are only staying with you temporarily. Not counting newborn babies, children, and seniors impacts support for programs such as health care services, food assistance, transportation, and schools.

Your responses to the 2020 Census are safe, secure, and protected by federal law. Your answers cannot be used against you by any government agency or court in any way—not by the FBI, DHS, or ICE. The U.S. Census Bureau asks about race and ethnicity in the census, but it does not collect information about religious affiliation. U.S. law prohibits the Census Bureau from requiring anyone to disclose their religious affiliation.
