Governor Pritzker Issues State-wide "Stay at Home" Order 

Governor J.B. Pritzker announced a State-wide stay at home order, beginning Saturday, March 21 at 5 p.m. through the end of the day on Tuesday, April 7. This measure is being implemented to help limit further spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Read the order along with frequently asked questions provided by the Governor.

HOW DOES THE "STAY AT HOME" ORDER IMPACT ME?
Glencoe Village Hall Closed to the Public -
Critical Services Continue
The Village Hall is closed to the public, while critical operations, including services provided by our Public Safety Department, Public Works Department and the Glencoe Water Plant are not impacted. Village of Glencoe employees that normally perform administrative functions from Village Hall are performing their work remotely. Residents can access some Village services online and call or e-mail the Village with questions during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). The Glencoe Golf Club is also closed to the public during this time.

Glencoe Public Safety Implements Additional Precautions to Protect Community
In order to provide the greatest level of protection to our residents and to our critical first responders, the Glencoe Public Safety Department is implementing additional safety and social distancing precautions and amending certain operational procedures.

We remain deeply committed to serving the Glencoe community and are working around the clock to provide services that to keep our community safe through this difficult time. These efforts will allow us to better support the needs of our residents and businesses while adhering to necessary social distancing guidelines. We appreciate your support and understanding

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Health Information
The Village is monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak closely and receiving frequent updates from our federal, state and regional public health partners. On March 15, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new recommendations to limit the spread of COVID-19. Please take the following steps to protect yourself and others:
  • Stay home
  • If you must leave your home, put at least six feet of distance between yourself and other people. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
  • Cancel gatherings of more than 10 people
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
  • Cover coughs and sneezes

Support Glencoe Restaurants and Businesses

On March 15, Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that all bars and restaurants in the State of Illinois will be closed for dine-in service effective at close of business on Monday, March 16 and extending through Monday, March 30. Restaurants may remain open for pick-up and delivery orders, and the State is working closely with restaurant owners and food delivery services to help facilitate continued service delivery.

 Now more than ever, your support of Glencoe’s small restaurants and businesses is critically important. Many have pickup, delivery and/or other service accommodations available. Click here to learn how you can support Glencoe's restaurants and businesses.

Glencoe Park District Programs and Facilities -
Closed Until April 10

The Glencoe Park District is extending the cancellation of all programs and closure of all facilities, including playgrounds, through April 10. The closing will be re-assessed as the situation progresses.

All  activities, rentals and events are canceled until that time. This includes Children’s Circle Full Day Preschool, Kids Club, Early Learning Center Preschool, Glencoe Junior Kindergarten, Glencoe Youth Services, all special events, sporting, fitness and enrichment classes, as well as access to open gym and Glencoe Fitness. All rentals during this time period will be canceled. Learn more.
Glencoe Public Library - Closed Until April 12
The Glencoe Public Library will remain closed until Sunday, April 12. Although the Library is closed, residents can access the Library's digital content online. From home, you can still download e-books; listen to audiobooks; stream movies, television shows and music; read newspapers, comics, and magazines; take online classes; learn a new language and more! Please visit the Library's website for more information
District 35 and New Trier Extend Closures
Until Monday, April 13

All New Trier Township schools have extended their closures through Monday, April 13. Spring break will go on as scheduled next week with no remote learning. Please visit District 35 and New Trier High School's websites for more information. 
Metra Rail Schedule Changes
Metra will begin operating an alternate weekday schedule on Monday, March 23, to adjust for the reduced number of riders due to school closures, work-from-home mandates and other consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The alternate schedules can be viewed hereThere will be changes for every line except the Heritage Corridor, which will operate its normal schedule. To protect yourself and your family from the spread of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends limiting contact with others as much as possible by practicing what is called "social distancing." Social distancing involves making significant changes to daily routines and is likely stressful. The Village encourages you to check in with your neighbors, particularly those who are most susceptible to COVID-19, such as older adults and those with serious chronic medical conditions like heart and lung diseases and diabetes.

Here are just a few ways to keep entertained and engaged with others while social distancing:
