Rhody Cruise-In Has No Particular Place To Go.
Our Monthly Cruise-In and Club meeting has been cancelled for April
Social Distancing is messing with our Springtime excitement.
-- All winter, I watched the rain come down, and the wind making waves on the river. I am always encouraged to see the little yellow daffodils telling me that spring is near, and its almost time for Car Shows and hanging with my friends.
This year, it seems that our personal health is threatened by our favorite activities. As of today, this is what I know, or estimate, about how this is effecting the Rhody Cruisers.

Pink Slips Luncheons: We hope we can get together again soon.

Coffee Cruise • Every Thursday 9:00 AM

Old Town Coffee Company is serving their terrific Coffee Drinks to Go. I attended last Thursday along with Ken Phillips, Don Erickson, Brian Avery, Gary Neal, and was happy to see Paul Potter. We stood around on the deck outside in the early morning sun, and chatted about the situation from an appropriate distance. Brian was showing pictures of his new '69 Dodge Super Bee, to be delivered soon.
His '55 Packard and Lincoln Continental are For Sale.
 The Thursday AM Coffee Cruise
has evolved into an important meeting for members participating in various Cruiser Projects.
Regularly attended by many members for Coffee, muffins and cookies. Before and after coffee it turns into a Stand-Around, lookin at cars and talking. Get the latest on events and projects.
Its a nice way to start your Weekend.

 Rhody Days Show & Shine • UPDATE
Date: May 16, 2020The Rhody Days Show Committee met last week to plan for the upcoming show.
The Rhody Cruisers members have been working to get all the details together, collecting raffle items, and organizing teams.
-- According To Gary Cargill, we are in a wait and see mode. The T-Shirts are ordered, but are not being Printed. The Awards are Ordered, but no engraving.
BETTINA HANNIGAN, Director of The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce says: --A great number of civic and business leaders are doing their best diligence to walk that fine line between overreacting and under-reacting. Let’s give each other grace, respect, and encouragement, and a little “social distancing,” as we all try to walk that line.

For 2020, the Rhody Cruisers will host this years first Car Show on the Oregon Coast.
May 16th, 2020 9am to 2:30pm Awards at 1:30pm Grocery Outlet & City Lights Cinemas Parking Lot, Florence OR
Cars & Trucks 1979 & Older
Judged Show, Award Trophies, Dash Plaques, Raffles,
Event T-Shirts, 50/50 Drawings and an Old Town Evening Cruise thanks to Siuslaw Valley Fire & Rescue.

This Car Show is a tradition of Springtime. Over 300 cars attend.
The weather will be Perfect, the Sky Blue, and the Cars Bitchin'.

 Member Car Show UPDATE
We are On Hold, as a part to the Rhody Days Activities.
The Rhody Cruisers are planning the Host Show for the Rhody Days Show & Shine
All Members are invited to bring out your cars.
All Years! So, let's see all the Corvettes, Hellcats and the Sweet Cars stashed away. It may not be a show car, but if it's Licensed, we want to see your project.
No Entry Fee. Online RSVP. ... maybe soon. $5 Cruise.
Our Cars will be shown adjacent to the Rhody Days Show.
Johnson Ford is providing an area for as many cars as we bring.
We will be setting up a Reception Area, Award Displays, Upcoming Show Info, and a Cruisers Membership Application. ... How Cool is That?
We will not be competing for Awards in the RD Show, but we will have one
"Best of ...Something" Cruiser Award. The RD Show will be Judged by the Rhody Cruisers. There is much to Decide, Arrange, Borrow and Beg.

Wings & Wheels Car Show and Fly-In
Date: July 11, 2020
Location: Florence Municipal Airport
 UPDATE: Ross Kroenert Says: Due to the current situation with the Coronavirus, he has spoken to the Lions Club and are cancelling the meeting scheduled for Tuesday March 24 at 8:30am at the Florence Public Works office.
We will reschedule a new meeting at a later date.
Rhody Cruiser Ross Kroenert stepped up last year, to produce the -Mike Groshong Memorial- Wings and Wheels Car Show and Fly-In. He swore he was not doing that again. He just did it for Mike. The show was such a big hit, it sold out, and sadly left beautiful cars sitting at the gate.
Well, Ross decided ...now that he had a plan, he could do it again.
The show will again Sell Out. It's not too early to register.
