Hey you!

Today's introvert tip is: Illuminate

Which light have you been bathing in these days? I hope you had at least some sunshine on your face during a walk or two, but when you were (isolated) at home, what light did you turn on?

Some bright TL-lights, an overhead chandelier, a reading light (extra points for you - see tip 1.), a cosy atmospheric light? Or have you just been sitting in the dark; gloomy?

The cosy light is an introvert's best friend. A soft glow that spreads around, creating a safe cocoon and relaxing the eyes.

It creates an atmosphere for the frantic mind to calm down, processing all those impressions of the day, and while the dust of all the thoughts is settling down, it might illuminate those few specks of thoughts that resonated most with you lately.

So instead of getting carried away with responding to what is going on outside of you in the world - illuminate what is alive inside of you, at this moment, in this day.

What are you feeling? What do you need?
What is your light in the darkness?
What keeps your flame burning?

Keep shining!
Nathalie

PS: when thinking about today's photograph, and wanting to take a candle photograph, I remembered a photograph by Rinko Kawauchi. She has been the first photographer that really opened my eyes. And I know realise that the first photobook that I bought of her was also called 'Illuminance'. Looking back to the photograph now, it was different than I remembered, but the soft blue colour and her aesthetic have clearly kept on inspiring me - from that moment 6 years ago where I caught the photography virus - up till today. Highly recommended to look through her work - especially now - it might calm your mind.
