CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

Welcome to the Catholic Weston Mailing List

THERE WILL BE NO MORE PUBLIC MASSES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

I'm sorry that the first email to our new mailing list has to be the bearer of sad news! We've been wanting to create a mailing list anyway, but the current situation with the Coronavirus has made it suddenly very urgent that we should be able to stay in touch with eachother by email, as we will no longer be able to gather together in person.
We hope you're happy to receive this message - your email address has probably been taken from parish census data. But if you don't wish to receive these emails, we do apologise - please unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of this email.
The main points are summarised in the message below, but please see our website for the latest up-to-date information.

CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION FOR CATHOLICS IN WESTON

No Public Gatherings

The Bishops of England & Wales have had to make the painful decision that it is currently unsafe to gather for public acts of worship, and therefore there will be no public Masses in Weston-super-Mare until it is deemed safe to gather again.
Please note that Catholics are NOT under obligation to attend Sunday Mass whilst these measures are in force.

This also applies to all prayer groups, RCIA, SVP, etc. and other celebrations such as weddings and funerals in church.

The Churches are OPEN

All three Catholic churches in Weston will open for people to come and pray quietly - observing the appropriate hygeine & social distancing protocols! The Bishop has particularly encouraged those who can to come into church at some point on Sundays to pray quietly before the Blessed Sacrament.

Corpus Christi will be open every day, around 8am - 6pm, except during Mass (times to be confirmed) during which sadly the doors will have to be locked.
Our Lady of Lourdes will be open Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays, 9am-1pm.
St Joseph's will be open every day from 10am - 7pm, unless Fr Wiesław is away.

For more info...

Please go to the Corpus Christi Website for updates about the situation, useful links and resources, and answers to questions like these...
  • What do I do when I'm not able to go to Mass?
  • Can I watch Mass online? How do I make a spiritual communion?
  • Can I still go to Confession? What about Baptisms & Funerals?
  • I am self-isolating, and need help
  • I am not self-isolating, and can offer help
