How's the quarantining/self-isolating going? I truly hope you and yours are well.

Given Lagos & London are both asleep until further notice, I'll be doing a bit of a pivot by sharing with you my top things to consume from the comfort of your own home. The Lagos/London thread won't disappear entirely but do expect some heavy deviation - because the dopeness that will emerge from this unprecedented moment of our time cannot be boxed-in my friend.

Enjoy and as per, let me know what you think.

Pandemic DJ Hero

The legendary DJ D-Nice broke Instagram Live with his Homeschool, Club Quarantine parties last week. Over 105,000 of us (including Michael B Jordan, Tiffany Haddish, Michelle Obama and loads more) parted away altogether in our own homes.

"D-Nice went from golden era rap royalty as a teenager in BDP, to hit solo singles, to falling into personal ruin, to couch surfing, to reinventing himself as a web developer and photographer, to returning to DJing playing small empty rooms - to superstar. Now he's the pandemic DJ hero." ~ DJ Stylus

Listen to this D-Nice's interview on The Combat Jack Show a few years ago (it's a bit long so just play it in the background). I didn't want it to end - not only has he got industry stories for daaays, D-Nice also has some serious favour over his life!

Issa Throwback

“A ti de” meaning “we have arrived” is a project that explores vintage Yoruba fashion from the 60s, 70s and 80s.  The aim of this series is to convey and shed light on the richness of cultural fashion during that era, particularly the Iro and buba of the yoruba tribe. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
