LEHS Weekly Informational Letter
March 21, 2020

Dear LEHS Community,

Thank you to everyone as we work through this unprecedented situation in our world.  We have so many unknowns at this point, so we must keep our focus on the things we can control.  We can “Be Braves”, we can still do our jobs, be good citizens, respect everyone, and listen and learn.  These will obviously need to be done differently, however they can still be accomplished.  Our teachers have been working hard to find new ways to reach students with school content and projects that will ask them to step away from the textbook. We ask students to take advantage of these and email teachers with questions.  We must remain flexible over this time and we will communicate with our community as much as possible, while trying to respect that aspect of “information overload.”   If you need to reach me please call the high school at 474-7503 or email me at nate.smith@loganelm.org.
 
The following information was mailed today to our families to outline the next few weeks.
 
Week 1 (3/16-3/20) we utilized Blizzard bags.
Ways to turn those in:
Completing them online.
Taking a picture of the completed work and emailing the teacher.
Keeping a folder to turn in when we return.

Week 2 (3/23-3/27)
Educational activities in this letter are listed for students to remain engaged without the use of the internet.  On the High School website there is also a list of online educational activities for students. We felt that it was important to offer both online and offline activities. This week is all about providing opportunities for students to stay engaged with education and take ownership of their learning.

The online/offline activities list is provided to continue educational opportunities for your child. The sole purpose of these activities is to keep our students educationally engaged and will not need to be submitted, however we would love for students to share the results with their teachers electronically.  We have these listed by department, not by course, intentionally to allow students to experience a variety of projects.

Week 3 (3/30-4/3)
To be announced. Much of this will depend on information coming out in the coming weeks.
           
Infinite Campus
Please take advantage of our new student information system Infinite Campus.  You can track your child’s grades, get assignment alerts, new grade alerts, view their fees, schedule, attendance, daily announcements, etc.  You will need to contact Mr. Dan Hugus or myself to receive an access code.  nate.smith@loganelm.org or dan.hugus@loganelm.org
