Remember to check with your insurance company and be aware of appropriate risk assessments of their activities and the necessity of Garda Vetting volunteers given their potential contact with vulnerable groups in society. 

This is to ensure the safety of your volunteers; the vulnerable communities you serve; and to protect your organisation in the long term from legal/financial and reputational risk. Also in a crisis, be mindful that groups will require a higher level of support as volunteers are at greater risk in terms of stress and their personal health.

Postmen and postwomen across the country will call to the front doors of older and vulnerable customers along their delivery route.

 

Bank of Ireland have also launched a new service which allows self isolating customers access cash without having to leave their homes or break their isolation. Customers  can nominate another person to make in-branch cash withdrawals and lodgements on their behalf. SuperValu, Centra and the GAA have partnered up to launch a new initiative to support older people in Ireland during the Corona-19 crisis. The goal of Club Together is to capitalise on Ireland's unique community spirit, by helping older people who do not have family and friends around to support them.
